Something a little different this week, to spice up your life !!!

I wonder how many of you are aware that something so simple can come with a myriad of problems !!

Watching for Gluten ‘sneak ins’ is a daily occurrence

Malt Vinegar is a nightmare ingredient that a lot of folk just don’t seem to realise is NOT gluten Free , because of course its JUST vinegar!!πŸ™Š

So getting a sauce that’s as tasty as the one Im going to give you today is a real treat ! Honestly

No hidden problems and not pumped full of TOO many additives

Also ingredients from country to country do change and I am aware many of Heinz products are not GF in the UK but are Internationally….so just do your research !!……I’ve had to do mine

This recipe is so simple a child if able to cop an onion with a plastic knife could so it …..supervised of course 😜😜😜

So lets get your burgers of choice tasty and your cruditΓ©s away from the hummus ( I love chickpeas as you will know but really there is a need !! )😍

Barbecue Sauce GF, DF V

A heady mix of Sweet, Smokey, hot and spicy BBQ Sauce ready for the summer season


This keeps fresh in the fringe in a sterilised jar for up to two weeks , and can be frozen in a sealed container for up to 3 months

Ingredients

  • I tbsp Oil of choice ( I used vegetable )
  • 1 white onion peeled and roughly chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Chilli Flakes
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 400 g Tinned Chopped Tomatoes
  • 3 tbsp Soft Brown Sugar
  • 4 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Worcester Sauce, Please Check its GF ( the malt vinegar is usually the issue , I use Biona )
  • 1 tsp Dijon Mustard ( Again Check I use Biona for this too )
  • Ground Rock Salt and Ground Pepper to taste ( we all like different )

Directions

  1. Add the oil to a medium sauce pan and heat til hot on high heat
  2. Saute the SautΓ© the onions, chilli flakes and smoked paprika for 5 minutes , stirring continually until onions have softened
  3. Add the tinned tomatoes and stir through
  4. Add the sugar, balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and mustard powder and combine
  5. Bring to the boil
  6. 6.Turn down the heat and simmer for 10 minutes until it has reduced and thickened
  7. Check the seasoning and add the salt and peepr to YOUR taste
  8. Serve on your GF Vegan Burger or use as a dip !!

It really is that simple !

A summer favourite , great on a burger a delicious tasty dip or for basting your veggie kebab before you fire it on an open flame !!πŸ˜‚
